Basilica of St. John the Baptist
The Roman Catholic Basilica was the largest building project to its date in Newfoundland history. At the time of it's construction, 1841, it was the largest church building in all of North America.
 
Mile One Centre
Mile One Centre opened in 2001 as the home of the American Hockey League's St. John's Maple Leafs. The arena has hosted the 2002 AHL All-Star Game and 2005 Scott Tournament of Hearts. Currently the home of the St. John's Fog Devils, in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
 
Johnson Geo Centre
The Johnson Geo Centre is a geological museum located on Signal Hill in St. John's, Newfoundland. Most of the museum is located underground, in an excavated cavern that shows the exposed bedrock of the hill.
 
Cabot Tower, Signal Hill
Cabot Tower was built in 1897 to commemorate the 400th anniversary of John Cabot's discovery of Newfoundland, and Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee. It is located on top of Signal Hill overlooking the city of St. John's. In 1901, Guglielmo Marconi received the first trans-Atlantic wireless message at a position near the tower, sent from England.
 
Colonial Building
The Colonial Building was the seat of the Newfoundland national government and the House of Assembly from January 28, 1850 to July 28, 1959 and in 1974 declared a Provincial Historic Site.
 
George Street
In the heart of downtown St. John's, George Street has the most pubs per square foot of any street in North America. The street is home to an annual Mardi Gras celebration in October and the six-night George Street Festival which occurs in early August.
 
Government House
Government House is the official residence of the Lieutenant-Governor of Newfoundland and Labrador. Government House was a by-product of the wave of administrative initiatives that took place during the 1820s. The royal charter of 1825 bestowed official colonial status for Newfoundland.

Memorial University of Newfoundland, popularly known as 'MUN', is is the largest post-secondary educational institution in Atlantic Canada.
 
St. John's International Airport
St. John's International Airport is part of the National Airports System, and is North America's easternmost airport, it is of particular importance in trans-Atlantic aviation.
 
The Rooms
The Rooms houses the Art Gallery of Newfoundland and Labrador, the Provincial Archives of Newfoundland and Labrador and the Provincial Museum of Newfoundland and Labrador.
 
Arts and Culture Centre
 
Quidi Vidi
Located in St. John's, the town is named for both Quidi Vidi Lake (where the Royal St. John's Regatta is held) and Quidi Vidi Harbour. Quidi Vidi is a Provincial Historic Site, which had significance as a battery during the War of 1812.
